Fossas are the largest mammalian carnivores on the island of Madagascar, but have been on the endangered list since 2000. It is estimated that less than 2,500 fossas remain in the wild.

Reservations are required for all programs. There is limited space in each program so please register early. A minimum number of registrants is required to run a program.
All education programs, including Edventure Academy, camps, and overnights, will run as scheduled unless the zoo has been closed by order of Onondaga County administration. Sorry, but no refunds or rain checks will be given for 'no-shows' for any reason.
Scout groups, Rotary, home school... if you belong to, or are active in any of these or other groups and would like to arrange a custom educational program on a specific topic, call the zoo's education department (315) 435-8511 x206. We will work with your group to design a special program to meet your needs.
Fees, times and availability depend on the program content, duration and materials needed. When considering such a program, please plan at least 6 weeks in advance.
