Red Fox

Red Fox

Though it is called a red fox, this canine can be red, black and a number of shades in between. Both an opportunistic scavenger and a skilled hunter of small animals, the red fox has adapted the technique of sometimes catching its prey and burying it in snow or dirt for consumption at a later time.

Camp Registration and FAQs

We strongly encourage you to register online. Registrations mailed in will be filled in the order in which they are received.

If the session you want is filled, please e-mail Liz at to be placed on a wait list. All registrations received after camp sessions are full will be held on a wait list. If payment has been made with a personal check/money order, it will be returned to you after the date of the camp has passed. If space becomes available, you will be contacted immediately. Spaces that open will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Reservations are required for all programs. There is limited space in each program so please register early.  A minimum number of registrants is required to run each program.  We reserve the right to cancel a program if the minimum number of registrants is not met. If the zoo cancels the camp session due to lack of enrollment or severe weather, a full refund or program credit will be given.

Cancellation Policy

If your child is enrolled and you must cancel for any reason, your registration fee is nonrefundable unless a child on the wait list can fill the space. If there is no wait list for the session indicated, we cannot issue a refund. In the event the cancelled slot is filled, a 25% processing fee will be deducted from your refund.

Consent and Waiver Policy

Every participant under the age of 18 without a parent or legal guardian on the premises during the education program must have a signed consent and waiver form on file with the Education Department. This form will be kept on file for one (1) year, so you only need to fill it out once. If your child's medical history, including food allergy or activity restrictions changes, please notify the Education Department to update your file at 435-8511 ext. 205. To download the Education Program Consent and Waiver form, please click here.

Severe Weather Policy

All education programs, including Edventure Academy, camps, and Twilights will run as scheduled unless the zoo has been closed by order of Onondaga County administration. Sorry, but no refunds or rain checks will be given for "no shows" for any reason.

For questions about any camp or to check avaliability, contact Liz at (315) 435-8511 ext. 205.
