What's New

Squishing of the Squash

Join us Saturday, November 7 for the annual Squishing of the Squash.  Watch as animals throughout the zoo stomp, romp and chomp pumpkins of varying sizes!  There will be a pumpkin of pachyderm proportion (880 pounds!) for the elephants to enjoy.  And, new this year underwater pumpkin carving in the penguin pool!

Penguin Chick Named

The winner of the Penguin Chick Naming Contest is Ashley Redhead of Bridgeport, NY.  Ashley submitted the name "Marisol," loosely translated to mean "Sunny Sea."  When asked why she chose this name, Ashley said, "Because we can always use a little sun in Syracuse."

WolfQuest!
EdZOOcation for kids 10-13

Saturday, September 19 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

For the first time ever, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo is holding an EdZOOcation program for kids ages 10 to 13.

Wolves are some of the world's most interesting and endangered animals.  Join us as we learn about the world of wolves, make enrichment for our wolf pack and learn about an interactive and fun new online game called WolfQuest.  It'll be a howlin' good time!

Fee:
Members $15 for the first child, $9 for each additional sibling ages 10-13
Non-members $20 per child
