Hear directly from our animal care specialists, enjoy refreshments provided by our award-winning Catering at the Zoo team, and leave with a deeper understanding of the work that we do to provide exceptional animal care and world-wide conservation. Tickets are $50 per person. Members receive a discount.

6 to 8 p.m. | $50Please join us for an in-depth look at this highly fatal, and sometimes hemorrhagic, disease. Participants will explore the history of elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus (EEVH) at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and learn how elephant care team members have managed and cared for elephants affected by it. The presentation will highlight the extensive preparation, specialized training, and ongoing commitment involved in protecting the zoo's elephants, with a particular focus on the EleTwins. By the end of the lecture, guests will have a deeper understanding of the challenges this disease presents and the dedication of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo staff in ensuring the health and well-being of the elephants in our care.
