Rosamond Gifford Zoo Offers Brunch with Santa on December 12 and 19

SYRACUSE, NY, November 15, 2021 — The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is offering a new spin on an old holiday favorite in December: Brunch with Santa on Sundays, December 12 and 19.

The event reimagines the former Breakfast with Santa to include later seating times and a more expansive menu, along with a chance to meet Santa Claus – who of course will mask up for the safety of his fans – and visit the zoo in winter.

Seatings begin at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. both days, and tickets include admission to tour the zoo after your family feast with Santa. Zoo member tickets are $21.95 adults and $9.95 youth aged 3-12; non-member tickets are $24.95 adults and $12.95 youth. Children 2 and under are free for both members and non-members. Tickets are available at rosamondgiffordzoo.org/brunch-with-santa.

Brunch with Santa includes all the features that people loved about Breakfast with Santa while embracing Catering at the Zoo’s food-forward philosophy exemplified by acclaimed Executive Chef Daniel Hudson, said Friends of the Zoo Food and Beverage Director Chuck Anthony.

“Being able to change the concept to include brunch fare really allows us to elevate the food for this event,” Anthony said. “Everything will be made fresh from scratch by our chef, and we are also adding something for adults – a Mimosa and Bloody Mary bar will offer drinks for purchase on site.”

The Brunch with Santa menu includes eggs, bacon and sausage as well as a gourmet brunch buffet including a charcuterie and veggie spread, Chicken Francaise, tortellini with broccoli Alfredo, raspberry cream cheese French toast, rice pilaf, honey-baked ham and Caesar salad as well as assorted pastries, a yogurt parfait bar and an oatmeal bar.

Kids will be able to visit with Santa and take COVID-safe photos (no lap-sitting, masks required), create a holiday craft and visit the zoo.

Onondaga County’s COVID protocols remain in place, so masks are required indoors unless seated to eat or drink. Since seating is family style, guests may be sitting with another party. Those planning to attend with a large party not reserved under the same name should contact [email protected] to arrange to sit together.

Non-members interested in receiving member pricing for this and many other zoo events as well as discounts at The Curious Cub Gift Shop, concessions, education programs and reciprocal admission to 150 other Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) institutions may visit rosamondgiffordzoo.org/members.
